Minor Flood Warning for the Paroo River (NSW)

at Willara Crossing and Wanaaring

RENEWED MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED AT WILLARA CROSSING

The Paroo River at Willara Crossing has fallen below the minor flood level.
Renewed river level rises are expected at Willara Crossing in the next few
days, as floodwater from the Upper Paroo River in Queensland extends to New
South Wales.

Paroo River (NSW):
Minor flooding is likely along the Paroo River at Willara Crossing and Wanaaring

The Paroo River at Willara Crossing has fallen below the minor flood level (0.7
metres). Renewed river level rises are expected. The river is likely to reach
1.60 metres around Tuesday with minor flooding.

The Paroo River at Wanaaring is likely to reach the minor flood level (2.40 m)
around 04 May.

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you
require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on
132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest
available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely
to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive
and dangerous.
