Final Flood Warning For The Gascoyne River
Issued at 10:53 AM WST on Thursday 20 February 2020
Flood Watch Number: 10

Flood waters from Ex - Tropical Cyclone Damien have triggered flooding in many parts of the Gascoyne and Lyons rivers over the past 7 - 10 days. The Gascoyne river will continue flowing for some time, however significant flooding is no longer expected.
Peak flows from the Lyons and Gascoyne rivers have been observed at Jimba, Fishy Pool and Nine Mile Bridge.

Gascoyne River to Jimba:
No further flooding is expected in the Gascoyne River to Jimba although the river will remain flowing for some time.
Gascoyne River downstream of Jimba:
No further flooding is expected in the Gascoyne River downstream of Jimba.
The Gascoyne River at Nine Mile Bridge peaked at 4.50 metres (below the minor flood level) around 3am this morning.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
