Final Flood Warning For The Fortescue River

Flooding is no longer expected in the Fortescue River catchment.
Forecast for Friday is a slight (30%) chance of a shower in the eastern Pilbara during this afternoon and early evening. Near zero chance of rain elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm inland during this afternoon and evening.
Only significant rainfall total observed in the Fortescue River catchment for the 24 hours to 9:00 am Friday was 15mm at Solomon Airport.

Fortescue River:
No further flooding is expected in the Fortescue River. Recent rain from Ex Tropical Cyclone Damien could still be adversely impacting road conditions, particularly at floodways.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
